Ex-Brazilian commercial grade HRC is now being traded at $480/mt, FOB conditions. Current price points reflect an approximate $20/mt decline from levels seen 10 days ago.

One exporter source close to SteelOrbis indicated that the current decline in ex-Brazilian HRC pricing is following the downward pricing trend that’s being seen the Chinese steel market, but at a slower pace.

“[Pricing for] slabs, HRC and CRC are following the same route, downward but at a slower pace than in China," he added.

In April, ArcelorMittal exported HRC at $278/mt, CSN at $354/mt and Usiminas at $328/mt, FOB conditions.  It is believed these bookings were concluded in February for April shipment.
