Brazil exported 52,000mt of hot dip galvanized products (HDG) in June, 91 percent more than in May, at an average price 2.5 percent higher, $602/mt; deals at this price point likely closed in April.
According to the Brazilian ministry of development, industry and foreign trade, MDIC, most of the volume was shipped by CSN to clients in the US (29,500 mt at $623/mt FOB).
Usiminas exported 18,800mt at $495/mt and ArcelorMittal exported 2,000mt at $609/mt, both FOB conditions.
Total shipments to the US have reached 38,500 mt. Exports to Latin American countries were recorded at 7,400 mt while 3,000 mt was shipped to the EU.
The most recent deals for the export of HDG, having the G40 grade as reference, were closed at $756/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.
In terms of imports, SteelOrbis has learned that Brazil imported in June 1,300mt of HDG from China at $469/mt, FOB conditions.
