Brazil CRC imports drop in February

Brazil imported 18,400 mt of CRC in February, against 27,700 mt in January, according to the local ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC. The average price increased by 16 percent to $544/mt, FOB conditions.
 
The main exporters were Russia (9,500 mt at $588/mt), China (7,300 mt at $450/mt) and South Korea (1,200 mt at $655/mt), while smaller tonnages were shipped from the EU and Japan.
 
Traders and consumers of CRC maintain a small but constant flow of CRC imports into Brazil, as an alternative from domestic prices usually exceeding the level of $1,000/mt.
