On June 9, Chinese steel producer Angang Steel issued its ex-mill price policy as follows:
1. HRC prices have declined by RMB 350/mt ($51/mt). As a result, the price of SPHC 3.1 mm x 1,000-1,199 mm low carbon steel is RMB 3,860/mt ($566/mt), with common carbon HRC costing RMB 3,720/mt ($545/mt).
2. CRC prices have decreased by RMB 700/mt ($103/mt). Thus, the new price of SPCC 1.0 mm x 1,250 CRC is RMB 4,640/mt ($680/mt).
3. Galvanized coil prices are down RMB 500/mt ($73/mt), with the price of ST01Z 1.0 mm galvanized coil now at RMB 4,750/mt ($696/mt).
4 . Pre-painted steel prices are down RMB 300/mt ($44/mt), with TDX51D+Z 0.5 mm pre-painted steel now costing RMB 5,950/mt ($872/mt).
5. Medium plate prices have been reduced by RMB 450/mt ($66/mt). Thus, Q235A 20 mm common carbon medium plate produced by the medium plate production line is now priced at RMB 3,750/mt ($550/mt), while Q235A 20 mm common carbon medium plate produced by the heavy plate production line is priced at RMB 3,770/mt ($553/mt).
6. Silicon steel prices remain unchanged. 50AW800 cold rolled silicon steel still costs RMB 6,920/mt ($1,015/mt)
All the above prices are ex-mill, do not include 17 percent VAT and are effective from July 1, 2010.
