On May 8, SteelOrbis reported Chinese origin import offers into Chile for HRC at $450-465/mt CFR, CRC at $490-505/mt CFR, and HDG at $575-590/mt CFR. HRC and HDG offers encountered a slight increase while CRC offers decreased through early May.

According to sources close to SteelOrbis, current ex-China HRC import offers to Chile are being heard at $450-460/mt CFR, CRC at $490-500/mt CFR, and HDG at $565-575/mt CFR. These numbers represent a decline of $5/mt from the top of the previous range for both HRC and CRC offers.  HDG offer prices shifted downward $10/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $15/mt from the top of the range. A source noted that buyers expect further market corrections of $5-15/mt through the next four weeks and therefore market activity is relatively limited.
