US specialty steel consumption indicates an increase
According to the statistics released by Specialty Steel Industry of North America (SSINA), specialty steel and stainless steel consumption in the US has increased in the first nine months of the year. In line with the statistics, total specialty steel consumption increased by 11% to 2'154'567 tons against previous year. Specialty steel imports in the subject period increased by 22% to 601'996 tons. US total stainless steel consumption increased by 14% to 1'812'900 tons, whereas the imports of subject product increased by 28% to 473'946 tons. US consumption of stainless steel sheet/strip reached 1'348'741 tons, up by 14%. Imports of subject product increased by 31% to 297'182 tons. Stainless steel plate imports increased by 50% to 53'750 tons while stainless steel bar imports increased by 11% to 59'259 tons.US specialty steel consumption indicates an increase
