Pakistan’s FDI up to $181 million in Q1

In Pakistan, foreign direct investment (FDI) reached $181.1 million in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, up by 54.9% compared to $116.9 million recorded in the same period of last year. Based on the official data published on Wednesday, the US was the leading country with $56.2 million investment in the first quarter. Total US investment amounted to $238.4 million in 2003/04 fiscal year. UK ranked as the second largest investor with an investment of $36.3 million. Total FDI inflow from the UK was recorded as $64.9 million in the last fiscal year. Moreover, the Netherlands invested $17.9 million in the mentioned period while FDI inflow from Japan amounted to $11.9 million.
