New Zealand reports rise in trade surplus

According to the statement made by the government, New Zealand's trade surplus increased to NZD 656 million (approx. $418 million) in May due to the sharp rise in exports. This is the highest level recorded in the last three years. Statistics Office of New Zealand reported that exports amounted to NZD 3.4 billion in May with an increase of 22.7% while imports were registered as NZD 2.7 billion. The increase in May exports mainly grew out from exports of dairy products, meat and fruit.
