Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group has announced that in the January-February period of the current year its subsidiary Xuanhua Steel supplied 5,600 mt of round bar to Chongqing Sangang Steel Industry Co., Ltd. These supplies constitute Xuanhua Steel’s first direct supplies of round bar. Up to now, it had always supplied the materials through an intermediary.
Chongqing Sangang, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 mt of seamless pipe, mainly produces and sells cold drawn seamless pipe.
Xuanhua Steel has developed round bar for manufacturing of 50-100 mm diameter seamless pipe. Within the scope of its cooperation with Chongqing Sangang, Xuanhua Steel’s direct supplies of round bar to this company are expected to amount to 40,000 mt per year.
