Jiangsu Province-based Chinese special steel producer Xingcheng Special Steel Co., Ltd has announced that it has successfully carried out hot trial production of large size round billet of 900 mm diameter, thus breaking the world record for round billet size.
Since its first hot trial production in May 2009, the R17 mm concaster which has produced the 900 mm round billets in question has been producing round billets of 500-800 mm diameter.
