A maintenance worker fixing a cable on an overhead crane at Commercial Metals Company (CMC) Steel Arkansas died in an accident Tuesday morning. CMC and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration in Little Rock, Arkansas are investigating the accident.
CMC Steel Arkansas is a mini-mill that offers steel fence posts and accessories. The plant also manufactures rebar, flats, angles and specialty rail section products.
