Work starts on construction of Yuanjiacun iron ore project

Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Taigang Group and China-based international engineering company Northern Engineering & Technology Corporation have started work on the construction of the Yuanjiacun iron ore project.

The project has a designed annual capacity of 22 million mt of iron ore and 8.4 million mt of iron ore concentrate, which ranks it as the largest iron ore mine in China.

Work has started on the construction of the iron ore beneficiation plant, at which test runs are expected to start by October 2011.
