Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Group (WISCO) has announced that it has become the exclusive supplier in the Chinese domestic market of car panels processed from its own cold rolled sheets to Beijing Benz Automotive Co. Its supplies to the Beijing-based automaker commenced with the successful production of 800 mt of the products in question in early June.
The car panels used by Beijing Benz have features of anti-corrosion, light weight and high strength. Previously, Beijing Benz only signed supply contracts for these products with leading overseas steel companies. WISCO had started to research and develop the products in 2011.
