Wheeling Nisshin’s production reaches 10 million tons

Wheeling-Nisshin Inc has produced 10 million tons of steel at its plant since it came on stream in April 1988, Mr. Rich Carter, President and COO for Wheeling Nisshin stated. Wheeling-Nisshin, which was built by Japanese and American investors, started with an aluminum galvanizing line in 1988. A continuous galvanizing line was added to the plant in 1993. While Japanese Nisshin Steel holds a 64.3 percent stake in Wheeling-Nisshin, US-based steelmaker Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel holds a 35.7 percent stake in the company.
