Vietnam scrap imports hit 2.8 million mt in first eight months

According to customs data, Vietnam imported 2.82 million mt of ferrous scrap in the January through August 2018 period.

During the period, Vietnam imported scrap from Japan (0.99 million mt, 35 percent), US (0.60 million mt, 21 percent), Hong Kong (0.39 million mt, 14 percent), Australia (0.27 million mt, 10 percent), UK (0.09 million mt, 3 percent), Philippines (0.08 million mt, 3 percent), Singapore (0.07 million mt, 2 percent), Netherlands (0.06 million mt, 2 percent), and others (0.27 million mt, 10 percent).
