Venezuelan state-run HBI producer Briquetera del Caroni (Briqcar) expects to export 30,000 mt of HBI by the end of March, according to a top executive at the company.

Antonio Rivas, president of Briqcar, told local media a ship is expected to leave the country’s Palua port by the end of this month. Despite providing the product’s export volume, Rivas did not disclose the company receiving the product.

The export order should generate Briqcar some $6.5 million in revenue, and the company expects to export a second shipment of HBI sometime in April.

So far, from the cumulative period of January to February, Briqcar produced 34,752 mt of HBI.
