Vale's iron ore exports up 10.7 percent in April

In April this year, Brazilian miner Vale's iron ore export volume totaled 22 million mt, increasing by 10.7 pecent year on year and down by 6.2 percent compared to March, according to Brazil's National Union of the Industry of Extraction of Iron and Base Metals (Sinferbase). In the first four months of the current year, Vale's iron ore exports rose by 4.96 percent year on year to 86.25 million metric tons.
 
Meanwhile, in April this year Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market amounted to 997,000 mt, decreasing by 25.6 percent year on year and up eight percent month on month. In the first four months of this year, Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market totaled 4.08 million mt, falling by 16.52 percent as compared with the same period last year.
