Uttam Steel to increase its capacity

According to recent news in the market, Mumbai-based steel producer Uttam Steel is planning to invest Rupees 2.5 billion ($54 million) to increase its annual cold rolling capacity to 1 million tons and galvanized steel capacity to 700'000 tons. Moreover, the company plans to establish a facility to produce color-coated sheets. The capacity expansion for cold rolling plant is scheduled to be completed by March 2006. The planned facility for production of color-coated sheets will have an annual production capacity of 80'000 tons.
