Leite replaces former IABr’s directing council president, Alexandre Lyra. The announcement was made on Tuesday during the Brazil Steel Congress, held from 21-22 August in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Leite has over 40 years of experience within Usiminas. Faraco was named Gerdau’s marketing director late last year.
Marcos Eduardo Faraco, Gerdau’s marketing director, was named vice president of IABr’s directing council.
Leite said in a press conference on Tuesday Brazil’s economy “needs” to grow between 3 to 5 percent.
