US wire rod exports up 17.2 percent in November

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of wire rod totaled 3,876 mt in November 2018, up 17.2 percent from October but down 43.2 percent from November 2017 levels. By value, wire rod exports totaled $3.7 million in November, compared to $3.5 million in the previous month and $6.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most wire rod to Canada in November with 2,480 mt, compared to 1,815 mt in October and 5,055 mt in November 2017. Other destinations included Mexico, with 1,300 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US wire rod exports in November.
