US steel scrap exports down by 14.57 percent in H1

According to the statistics released by the US International Trade Commission (US ITC), in the first half of this year US steel scrap exports amounted to 9.66 million metric tons, declining by 14.57 percent as compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
 
In the first six months of 2010, US steel scrap exports to Turkey amounted to 1.7 million metric tons, decreasing by 12.4 percent, while US steel scrap exports to South Korea totaled 1.72 million metric tons, up 16.9 percent, and its steel scrap exports to China came to 1.55 million metric tons, down 56.09 percent, all compared to the first half of 2009.
