US rebar exports up 9.2 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 10,407 mt in March 2019, up 9.2 percent from February but down 72.4 percent from March 2018 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $7.9 million in March, compared to $7.0 million in the previous month and $25.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in March with 4,779 mt, compared to 4,941 mt in February and 34,015 mt in March 2018. Other top destinations included Dominican Republic, with 3,850 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export rebar in March.
