The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced its preliminary decision in the administrative review investigation regarding the antidumping (AD) duty on hot rolled coil imports from Japan and South Korea.
The DOC has found no dumping by the Japanese exporters including Nippon Steel and Tokyo Steel during the review period, thereby assigning a zero dumping margin. The earlier rates which were determined for the Japanese exporters range between 2.06 percent and 7.64 percent.
Meanwhile, the DOC also decided to revise down the dumping margins of South Korean steelmakers Hyundai Steel and POSCO from 5.44 percent to 0.94 percent.
Additionally, the DOC preliminarily determined a dumping margin of 2.55 percent for Turkish suppliers Çolakoğlu Metalurji, Ağır Haddecilik, Habaş, MMK Metalürji, Tosyalı, Gazi Metal, Özkan Demir Çelik and others compared to the zero dumping rates announced in June this year, as reported by SteelOrbis.
The DOC said that Erdemir Group had no shipments during the period of review.
The review period cover the dates between October 2017 and September 2018.
