According to the latest figures from the US International Trade Commission, US iron and steel scrap exports totaled 1.30 million mt in June this year, up 11.0 percent month on month and up 25.9 percent year on year.
Mexico was the largest recipient of US iron and scrap exports in June with 303,579 mt, up 75.2 percent month to month and up 326.9 percent year on year. Other notable destinations in June included Turkey with 299,994 mt, Vietnam with 146,207 mt, and Canada with 78,100 mt.
In terms of value, US iron and steel scrap exports totaled $620.00 million in June this year, compared to $628.43 million in May and $452.89 million in June 2025.
