US imported 4.2 million mt of scrap in Jan-Nov

According to US Census data, the US imported 4.2 million mt in the first 11 months of 2017. During the Jan-Nov period, the US imported 2.8 million mt (67 percent) from Canada, 0.43 million mt (10 percent) from the UK, 0.25 million mt (6 percent) from Mexico, 0.21 million mt (5 percent) from Sweden, 0.21 million mt (5 percent) from the Netherlands, 0.07 million mt (2 percent) from Japan, and 0.05 (1 percent) from other countries.
