According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 39,139 mt in July 2019, up 10.4 percent from June but down 21.7 percent from July 2018 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $35.5 million in July, compared to $32.5 million in the previous month and $46.7 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in July with 27,206 mt, compared to 23,379 mt in June and 31,166 mt in July 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 11,161 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in July.
