US HRC exports up 0.8 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheet totaled 36,933 mt in April 2019, up 0.8 percent from March but down 29.5 percent from April 2018 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $34.9 million in April, compared to $34.6 million in the previous month and $46.8 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in April with 25,897 mt, compared to 25,690 mt in March and 29,191 mt in April 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 10,537 mt. There were no other major destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in April.
