US HRC exports down 12.9 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 35,459 mt in June 2019, down 12.9 percent from May and down 38.8 percent from June 2018 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $32.5 million in June, compared to $38.5 million in the previous month and $52.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in June with 23,379 mt, compared to 29,364 mt in May and 33,487 mt in June 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 11,889 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in June.
