US HRC exports double in October

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 88,131 mt in October 2019, surging up 109.1 percent from September and up 75.3 percent from October 2018 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $70.7 million in October, compared to $36.8 million in the previous month and $47.6 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in October with 77,664 mt, compared to 30,912 mt in September and 35,387 mt in October 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 8,996 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in October.
