US hot rolled bar exports down 19.7 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled bar totaled 34,112 mt in June 2023, down 19.7 percent from May and down 24.1 percent from June 2022. By value, hot rolled bar exports totaled $60.4 million in June, compared to $68.1 million in the previous month and $76.6 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most hot rolled bar to Mexico in June with 20,892 mt, compared to 23,309 mt in May and 24,056 mt in June 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 11,334 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US hot rolled bar exports in June.
