US HDG imports fall 14.7 percent in November

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of HDG sheets and strip totaled 243,248 mt in November, down 14.7 percent from October and up 24.4 percent from November 2015 levels. By value, HDG imports totaled $198.4 million in November 2016, compared to $228.4 million in the previous month and $162.6 million in the same month last year.
 
The US imported the most HDG from Canada in November, with 78,240 mt, compared to 75,022 mt in October and 61,269 mt in November 2015. Other top sources of imported HDG in November include Taiwan, with 23,009 mt; Vietnam, with 19,249 mt; Brazil, with 20,033 mt; and Korea, with 15,352 mt.
