The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced Wednesday that it has made its preliminary determination in the case against high-pressure steel cylinders from China, setting countervailing duty rates at 22.34 percent.

However, before the duty is implemented, the International Trade Commission (ITC) must find that US producers were harmed by the Chinese imports. Chinese imports of the steel cylinders jumped from $29 million in 2009 to $49 million in 2010.
