On December 27, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the preliminary results of the full second sunset review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order on certain stainless steel plate in coils from Belgium.
Following responses from respondent ArcelorMittal Stainless Belgium N.V., the government of Belgium and local petitioners, the DOC said that the net countervailable subsidy likely to prevail if the order were revoked is zero percent for ArcelorMittal Stainless Belgium N.V. and all other companies.
The local petitioners which participated in the review are: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation and the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union.
The CVD deposit rate for ArcelorMittal Stainless Belgium N.V. is currently 0 percent and 2 percent for all others.
There is also an antidumping order against stainless steel plate in coils from Belgium, and the dumping duty deposit rate for ArcelorMittal Stainless Belgium N.V. is 6.57 percent and 8.54 percent for all others.
