On May 11, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced that it has partially rescinded its antidumping (AD) duty administrative review for stainless steel bar from India, specifically for India Steel.

The DOC said that it made the decision since the petitioners withdrew their request for review of India Steel Works Limited, one of the respondents, within the 90-day period following the announcement of initiation of the review on March 30.

On February 26, the Department received a request from domestic interested parties Carpenter Technology Corp.; Crucible Specialty Metals, a division of Crucible Materials Corp.; Electralloy Co., a G.O. Carlson, Inc. company; and Valbruna Slater Stainless, Inc., for a review of Venus Wire Industries Pvt. Ltd., Facor Steels Ltd./Ferro Alloys Corporation, Ltd., Mukand, Ltd., India Steel Works, Limited and their respective affiliates.

The period of the review is from February 1, 2009 through January 31, 2010.
