The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced its preliminary affirmative determination in the countervailing duty (CVD) investigation of wire decking from China.
The DOC has calculated relatively insignificant preliminary subsidy margins for most Chinese wire decking producers/exporters, except for uncooperative companies, for which the DOC has calculated much steeper margins.
The DOC has calculated the following preliminary subsidy margins:
(1) Dalian Eastfound Metal Products Co., Ltd. - 3.13 percent
(2) Dalian Huameilong Metal Products Co., Ltd. - 2.02 percent
(3) Uncooperative Companies - 437.73 percent
(4) All Others - 2.58 percent
When this announcement is published in the Federal Register, the DOC instruct US Customs and Border Protection to suspend liquidation of entries of wire decking from China and to require the deposit of the estimated countervailing duties or the posting of a bond. The names of the uncooperative companies will also be included in the Federal Register notice.
The DOC is scheduled to make its final subsidy determination by March 20, 2010, but that date may be extended.
The DOC is scheduled to make its preliminary determination in the companion antidumping investigation by January 4, 2010.
