US DOC issues preliminary CVD results of HR products from Brazil

On October 20, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the preliminary results of the administrative review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order on certain hot-rolled flat-rolled carbon-quality steel products from Brazil. The period of the review is January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008.
 
The DOC calculated a combined subsidy rate of 0.02 percent (de minimis) for the respondents Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (USIMINAS) and its subsidiary Companhia Siderurgica Paulista (COSIPA) for the period in question.
