US-based MMI Products to lay off 70 at Texas location

Houston, Texas-based construction materials manufacturer MMI Products Inc. announced November 29 in a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission that the company plans to lay off 70 employees at its parent company CRH Plc., an Ireland-based building materials manufacturer.

According to the letter, the layoffs will begin on January 31, and continue through May 31 of next year as the company prepares to close its headquarters in North Houston.

CRH has an additional corporate location in Atlanta, Georgia, which will continue its operations and manage all of the company's North American products and distribution.
