In February this year, the Ukrainian steel industry's consumption of natural gas declined by 36 million cubic meters compared to January to 480 million cubic meters, while the average daily consumption of natural gas during the month totaled 17.2 million cubic meters - up from 16.6 million cubic meters in the previous month.
According to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in January-February this year the domestic steel industry's average daily consumption of natural gas amounted to 16.9 million cubic meters.
In addition, in January-February 2011, Ukraine's steel industry decreased its power consumption by 0.2 percent year on year to 6.341 billion kWh.
