Ukrainian iron ore mining and processing complex Sukha Balka, a part of DCH Group, has announced that it restarted production recently at its Frunze mine in Dnipropetrovsk region after almost a year.

As SteelOrbis reported earlier, due to Russian shelling of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, many steel companies and miners in the country had to stop or suspend their operations. Additionally, energy usage limits were one of the reasons affecting production, among other factors.

With a stable energy supply, Sukha Balka decided to inspect equipment and resume production on September 15. It is planned to reach iron ore production of 20,000 mt per month. The quality of the iron ore extracted from the mine is up to 61.88 percent.

DCH Group acquired the mine from Evraz Group back in May 2017.
