Ukraine's scrap procurement prices are falling

Wednesday, 26 April 2006 13:40:51 (GMT+3)   |
Since mid-April the procurement price for A3 scrap on Ukrainian domestic market dropped $4 per ton to $204-210 per ton, including VAT and delivery. The main factors for a downtrend in the prices of scrap in Ukraine, as in Russia, are the seasonal growth of scrap collection and increase in the scrap supplies to domestic steelmakers. The domestic needs of most of the metallurgical enterprises are now covered by 120-150 percent. The downward trend in scrap procurement prices is expected to continue in first half of May.
