Ukraine’s scrap imports up 73.5 percent in January-May

In the January-May period this year, Ukraine exported 251,000 mt of scrap, up 2.5-fold year on year, with a value of $83.5 million, according to the data released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine. The exports in terms of value mostly went to Moldova (76.7 percent), Turkey (22.1 percent) and the Netherlands (0.8 percent).

Meanwhile, in the given period, Ukraine’s scrap imports increased by 73.5 percent to 20,740 mt compared to the same period of 2017. The imports in terms of value mostly came from Turkey (72.01 percent), Russia (12.44 percent) and Slovakia (10.22 percent).
