Metinvest-Eurasia, the wholesale and retail sales channel of the Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Group in the Russian Federation, has announced that in Q1 2010 it has commenced shipments of rolled steel products from its two new metal service centers in Russia's Voronezh and Volgograd regions.

Accordingly, the product mix of Metinvest-Eurasia's new warehouses in the Voronezh and Volgograd regions includes beams, channels, angles, sheet, reinforced bars and wire rod, produced at Metinvest's Ukrainian subsidiaries Azovstal and Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works, as well as at enterprises that are not part of Metinvest Group. Each warehouse will continuously maintain stocks of 2,000-3,000 mt of steel products.

The new metal service centers are to allow Metinvest to increase its sales volumes in the Central and Southern Federal Districts of the Russian Federation, and will increase the number of the company's regional metal service centers to fifteen.

Metinvest sales network in Russia covers the regions that are located close to the Ukrainian border, such as Rostov-on-Don, Belgorod, Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, Sochi, Adler, Bryansk, as well as Russia's main cities, such as Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

"We aspire to bring the goods as close to Russian end-customers as possible. This is the cornerstone of our strategy," Metinvest Eurasia CEO Roman Rybalov said, adding that in the future the company plans to expand its sales network in the direction of Russia's North Caucasus Federal District.
