Ukraine’s iron ore production up slightly in January-April

In the January- April period of this year, Ukraine's production of iron ore rose by 0.4 percent year on year to 27.772 million mt, iron ore concentrate production went up by one percent year on year to 23.122 million mt, but the output of prepared iron ore raw materials declined by one percent year on year to 21.891 million mt, including 13.804 million mt of agglomerate (down five percent), and 8.087 million mt of pellets (up seven percent), according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.

In April alone, Ukrainian ore mining and processing enterprises produced 7.075 million mt of iron ore, 5.893 million mt of iron ore concentrate, 5.477 million mt of agglomerate and 1.967 million mt of pellets.

In January-April, scrap metal supplies to Ukrainian metallurgy enterprises declined by 27 percent compared to the same period last year to 1.059 million mt, including 256,000 mt in April.
