Ukraine's exports of raw materials in March

The State Committee of Statistics of Ukraine has released the information about the country's exports of pig iron and scrap in March 2006. According to released data, Ukraine's export of pig iron rose 11.4 percent, or 11,310 tons, month on month to 110,430 tons in March 2006. The export revenue increased 10.3 percent, or $2.16 million, at the same period, to $23.16 million. In March 2006, the export of pig iron increased 135.1 percent, or 63,460 tons from March 2005. On the other hand, the country's export of scrap fell 9 percent, or 4,440 tons, month on month to 45,010 tons in March 2006. The export revenue decreased 8.4 percent, or $830,000, to $9.04 million at the same period. In March 2006, the export of scrap decreased 64.1 percent, or 80,250 tons from March 2005.
