Ukraine sees 34.5 percent drop in steel product exports to Egypt in Jan-Sept

In the first nine months of this year, Ukraine's steel product exports to Egypt declined by 34.5 percent year on year from 1.139 million mt to 746,000 mt, valued at $361 million - down 7.2 percent compared to January-September 2009, the RBC Ukraine information agency reported.

Specifically, during the period in question, Ukraine's exports to Egypt of semi-finished steel products went down by about 35 percent year on year from 773,000 mt to 503,000 mt, valued at $227 - up from $255 million in January-September 2009. Meanwhile, in the given period, Ukraine's exports of flat rolled steel products increased in value from $44 million to $48 million, while its exports of rebar rose in value to $52 million from $31 million, compared to the same period of the previous year.
