UAE-based Hamriyah Steel resumes operations

UAE-based rebar producer Hamriyah Steel, a 80:20 joint venture of Russian steel and iron ore producer Metalloinvest and the Emirates, has resumed operations in its Hamriyah Free Economic Zone plant, SteelOrbis has heard.

The plant with an annual rebar production capacity of 1 million mt was idle for more than three years after the shutdown in late 2012. The rolling mill started operations in 2010.
