Turkish producer Nursan to up billet capacity

SteelOrbis has been informed that the Turkish steelmaker Nursan Metallurgy is to increase its annual production capacity of billet from the current 800,000 metric tons to 1.1 million metric tons, as a result of the replacement of its existing EAF with one of greater capacity. 

The new 120 mt EAF is planned to be put into operation by the end of February 2008.
