Turkish PPGI imports up 149 percent in January-July

In July, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 5,708 mt, falling by 50 percent compared to the previous month and up by 212.6 year on year, while the revenue from these imports totaled $4.45 million, rising by 114.3 percent year on year and down 45 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
 
In the first seven months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports increased by 149 percent to 63,017 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $43 million, up 70 percent, both year on year.
 
In the given period, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 43,537 metric tons, up 268.15 percent year on year. China was followed by Italy and Belgium, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 9,326 metric tons and 3,486 metric tons respectively.
