In April this year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 2,350 mt, down 7.7 percent compared to March and down by 66.3 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports decreased by 4.1 percent month on month to $2.76 million and were down 43.2 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 71 percent to 9,600 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $9.95 million, down 56 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Italy ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 2,252 metric tons, down 62.62 percent year on year. Italy was followed by Belgium and China, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 1,856 metric tons and 1,388 metric tons respectively.
