Turkey-based flat steel producer Tatmetal has stated that it will establish a wind power plant on the provincial border of Isparta-Konya with an investment of €60 million through its subsidiary Şule Enerji. The company will strengthen its renewable energy investments with the given power plant.

The wind power plant, which will have an installed capacity of 60 MW, is expected to produce an annual 200 million kWh of electricity.

The electricity generated at the power plant, which is planned to be commissioned in 2024, will meet Tatmetal’s energy needs and prevent 120,000 mt of carbon emissions. It has been reported that 11 turbines will be built for the new power plant, and surplus production will be supplied to power distribution companies.

Meanwhile, Tatmetal will generate approximately 13 million kWh of electricity annually with the new solar power plant project in Karabük that will have an installed power capacity of 7.80 MWe. The company will become energy independent with the new solar power plant, which is scheduled to be commissioned in the second half of 2024.
